If Estonia and Poland Can Do It, Slovenia Can Do It As Well

On September 14, Društvo Bodi svetloba ( DBS) is co-organizing GCAP Slovenia event at 11 o clock am at Kotnikova ulica 28, Ljubljana, together with other Slovenian member organizations of GCAP Slovenia dedicated to the Global Week To Act For SDGs.

According to Global Call To Action Against Poverty, only 12% of 17 SDGs have been realized half way to the year of 2030 when all Sustainable Development Goals have to be met .

The situation has really been disappointing in the last few years and therefore more powerful engagement on behalf of civil society organizations, activists and general public is needed in order to put extra efforts to fasten the implementation of SDGs.

SDG17 PartnershipThe Global Week to #Act4SDGs is a global mobilization taking place during the high-level week of the UN General Assembly in September, to show world leaders that people all around the world are committed, dedicated, and inspired to take action on the SDGs. This year’s mobilization focuses on the key themes of Climate, Peace, Gender Equality, Inclusion, and Sustainable Food Systems as the global community comes together to mark the mid-way point of the SDG Agenda.

We need new solutions, new approaches, and a renewed effort to unite to #Act4SDGs across borders.

DBS is preparing a presentation entitled If Estonia and Poland can do it, Slovenia can do it as well, dedicated to the SDG no.17. DBS will advocate for more and better Official Development Assistance ( ODA) on the part of Slovenia as Slovenian aid in comparison with most of the other Eastern European countries is a way too small reaching only 0.27% of GDP in 2022.
