Lesson created by: Birthe D. Nilsen, Rothaugen, Norway

Lesson plan: 9th grade teachers and students  were invited by the Department for Climate and Environment and the Department of Education in Bergen County to participate in a workshop. The workshop’s aim is to make lesson plans related to sustainable use of clothes, and these lesson plans are then meant to be used at Bergen middle schools this fall. 6 students from the elective “Design & Redesign” and their teacher at Rothaugen participated in the exiting and intructive meeting. They worked creatively using a variety of exercises to make different lesson plans. Based on their ideas, the Department of Climate and Environment will make the finished lesson plans which will be tested on 9th grade students in Bergen County this fall. Some of the ideas from Rothaugen included having an exchange day for clothes and having a cloting repair workshop. They also suggested watching movies about the topic to have some discussion.

More on this will be posted on the page as the lesson plans are completed and tried out!
